Cliffs Classic 2025 – A fantastic week of bowling by the seaside!

The 34th Cliffs Classic has wrapped up for another year – and what a brilliant week it’s been!

Hosted at the ever-welcoming Cliffs Hotel in Blackpool and played across some of the area’s best greens, this year’s festival saw a record 126 bowlers come together for a week of friendly competition, seaside charm, and great company.

While there were a few concerns before the event about the weather and how the greens might hold up, we’re pleased to say the sun came out and the playing surfaces were in excellent condition all week – a real credit to the clubs who hosted us.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us – whether you were a first-timer or a familiar face returning for another go at the Cliffs title. It’s the mix of new energy and long-standing friendships that make this event such a special highlight in the bowls calendar.

Our half-day singles format gave players more time to enjoy everything Blackpool has to offer, and the atmosphere across the greens – from Bispham Cons and Jubilee Gardens to Cavendish Road BC – was warm, welcoming, and full of good spirit.

The finals took place at the excellent Marton Institute, which was very well received by players and spectators alike. Thanks as always to the North Lancashire and Fylde referees and recorders for their professionalism throughout the week.
